' And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.'

All Saints’ Rhiwbina’s children
scattered flower seeds as part of a
church-based  Rhiwbina Community Garden  project
aimed at transforming the land around the church and church halls into a
Garden Space.
‘We hope to create a place where we work to harvest fruit, vegetables,
and herbs for healthy living;
but also a sanctuary for rest and reflection where we can watch and
marvel at the beauty of the changing seasons’,
wrote
Rev’d Peter Mortimer,
(Team Vicar with special responsibility for All Saints’ Church, Rhiwbina.)

Inside All Saints, Rhiwbina

 ‘ The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them;
and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing.’
( Isaiah 35, verse 1 )

The first Garden Space, created  on a triangle of ground outside the church hall reclaimed after the completion of work on Rhiwbina’s flood defences.  The plants were donated and planted by volunteers.  It is envisaged that, as well as beautifying the land around All Saints’, the plants will provide cut flowers for decorating the church.
