( Update from Michael John, 1FamilyCardiff Project Co-ordinator, 6.3.2021 )

It is just over a week since the arrival of our Syrian family, and I can report that they are settling in well and are keen to take a walk in their local neighbourhood once they have completed the required period of isolation. The 1familycardiff team have been supporting the family superbly, mostly via video link/zoom or doorstep visits, but everyone has adapted well.

Mum and Dad and the three children are lovely!  They are really keen to get on with their lives and settle here as quickly as possible.  They are already learning English.

The 1familycardiff team have been so grateful for the prayerful support of the whole Deanery, and for your generosity, manifested in many other ways, too.

Several people have very kindly offered to make a donation. This would be very welcome, as some unforeseen costs have arisen over the last couple of weeks.  If you’d like to donate, here are a couple of ways of supporting 1familycardiff:

via BACS NatWest:

Sort code: 53-70-30                                  Account number: 75052989

Account name: Llandaff Area Deanery Conference

If you’d prefer to donate by cheque,
please make it payable to ‘ Llandaff Area Deanery Conference ’, and give it to
your Parish ‘champion’ or to a member of the clergy.

Alternatively, you may wish to sponsor Glynis James (my wife) who is doing
a sponsored cycle ride for the 1familycardiff project.

Blessings, and thank you all,

Michael John ( Vicar of Pentyrch and Capel Llanilltern, & 1familycardiff coordinator )
