Rhiwbina’s ‘Christmas Cracker’

Published on 18th December, 2014

Treasurer, Terry Elliott, reports that this event, held after the weekly Eucharist Service on 10th December, gave a most welcome boost of £678 to All Saints’ Rhiwbina’s church funds, and he wishes to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this venture such a success.

The church hall was packed almost to capacity for the ‘coffee morning with a difference’.
This was a festive occasion, but tinged with sadness, as it marked the final appearance of the All Saints’ Singers and their accompanist,  Mr Godfrey Thomis.  They delighted us with a spirited performance of some all-time favourites before we all joined in with traditional Christmas songs and carols.

A stall selling jams and chutneys for the ‘Clean Water’ project raised an additional £132, all of which will be sent to a girls’ school in a remote region of South West Africa which already boasts a well, known as the ‘All Saints’ Well’, in recognition of the long-standing and ongoing support of the All Saints’ Rhiwbina community for this vital work.
