Pendyrus raises the roof – and £1,000 for St Mary’s!Published on 15th December, 2014
Pendyrus Male Choir
celebrated Christmas in style last Saturday evening, 13th December,
to a near-capacity audience of 180 people in
St Mary’s Parish Church, Whitchurch.
Under the bâton of their conductor, Stewart Roberts, accompanied by Gavin Parry, and with soloist Ffion Perrett, they performed a varied programme featuring Welsh hymns and folk music, songs from the shows, and items from the classical repertoire, as well as arrangements by J. Samuel of traditional Christmas favourites such as Adolphe Adams’s ‘O Holy Night’. Congregational carols ‘O Come, all ye Faithful’ and ‘Hark! the Herald Angels sing’ gave an enthusiastic audience the chance to raise their voices, too!
As a church, we are immensely grateful to the Pendyrus Choir
for a most enjoyable evening’s entertainment,
and for giving up their time at this busy season of the year
to raise the princely sum of
£1,000 for our church funds.
