As you can imagine, Covid-19, the impact of Lockdowns, and consequent attendance and seating restrictions in our churches, have all had a disastrous effect on church finances!

In a recent Ministry Area/Benefice Roadshow Zoom with Bishop June, we were made aware of a £40,000 hole in our Parish Share, aka the Quota, we pay ( or haven’t paid! ) to the Llandaff Diocese.  Amongst other things, this Quota contributes to the stipends of our own belovèd, conscientious and caring Benefice clergy.

Rev’d John Davis, our ever-resourceful, social-media-savvy Rector/Ministry Area Leader, has initiated an online-Giving fund to enable those of us who use social media to give via the Benefice/Ministry Area Facebook pages.

John Hall, our Benefice/Ministry Area Treasurer ( thank you, John  for all your hard [voluntary] work ) has this afternoon toured our streets with his wife Morna ( i/c St Mary’s Church Stewardship Envelopes Scheme )  distributing the St Mary’s Stewardship envelopes.

And the Church in Wales has set up a website whereby those of us with internet access can donate online in this way.

Rector John has asked us to publicise the Link on our website and on the March ’21 Lockdown Newsletter, which we are only too happy to do.

Here is the Link to the new online-giving site launched by Church in Wales:
